The brain on the mind & the mind on the brain

Han Fortmann Center for Mindfulness, Nijmegen

This series of four lectures investigates consciousness from two sides: human experience (through vipassana meditation) and brain research. These two sources of empirical data will be integrated with hypotheses towards a theory on human behaviour and well-being. Topics include conditioning versus free will, existential crises and symptomatic solutions, and mental development towards happiness. Intended audience: anyone interested in the nature of mind in perspective of contemporary science.
